Resin Bond Diamond Wheels for Woodworking Tools

Product Information

Overview

Resin bond diamond wheels grind carbide-tipped woodworking tools — TCT saws, router bits, cutterheads, and planer knives. The bond self-sharpens, keeps heat low, and holds a sharp edge.

Typical saw grinders: Vollmer, Woodtronic, Akemat, Widma. Cutterheads and knives: Weinig, Stehle, and equivalent CNC grinders. Diamond resin is for carbide tips; HSS or steel knives need CBN.

Shapes

Shape Drawing Role on woodworking tools
4A2 4A2 wheel drawing Face grinding of TCT teeth — the most requested cup on saw grinders
12V9 12V9 wheel drawing Face grinding in tight tooth gaps; also router-bit flutes

Also available: 1A1 (OD and cylindrical grinding of cutter bodies), 14V1 (gullet and root cleaning), 1V1 (narrow slots and clearances), 3A1.

Common grit for carbide saw teeth: D46–D91. Send your current wheel mark (e.g. 4A2-125-2-20 D64 C75) or a drawing. We match diameter, thickness, hole, grit, and concentration to your machine and coolant.

When not to use resin bond

  • Grinding or sanding wood itself → these wheels grind the tools, not the timber
  • HSS or steel planer / jointer knives → CBN, not diamond
  • Maximum wheel life with heavy wet grinding of brittle materials → metal bond
  • High-volume PCD woodworking tools with dressing on a production line → vitrified diamond
  • Cutting glass, quartz, or LED substrates → metal or electroplated cut-off wheels (1A1R)
