Product Information
What we grind
Metal bond wheels cut and grind natural and engineered stone — granite, marble, quartzite, and sintered stone slabs and parts. Typical jobs: cut-off of strips and blanks, cup grinding on faces, and CNC edge / sink work with a shanked cup.
This page is metal bond: wet cut-off and cups, built for life on a hard, abrasive workpiece. Resin bond is also used on stone — polish, calibration, and some cut-off where a cooler, finer rim is wanted. Send the resin mark if that is what you run; do not order a metal cup for a polish station.
Architectural glass belongs on Metal Bond × Glass. Fused quartz and technical ceramics belong on Quartz and Ceramics. Carbide tools belong on resin bond for carbide.
Cut-off or cup grinding
Cut-off and cup grinding use different wheels.
Cut-off
Granite and marble are cut wet on a segmented circular blade — bridge saw or table saw. Diamond segments sit on a steel core. A thin 1A1R fits tile saws and smaller blanks. Turbo or continuous rims if that is what you already run.
Some lines also cut or polish stone with resin. That is a different wheel from the metal blades and 1A1R on this page.
Send diameter, bore, and rim type. We match the blade to the spindle.
Cups (edges and faces)
Shanked segmented cups on a CNC or router for edges, sinks, and profiles. Turbo cups with a bolt flange for face grinding.
Short-run form work can use electroplated.
How to specify
Send the current wheel mark, a photo, or diameter, bore, and rim type. We match the blade or cup to the machine.
Cut-off
- Segmented circular blade — wet cutting on granite and marble bridge saws and table saws. Diamond segments on a steel core.
- 1A1R — thin wet cut-off on tile saws and smaller blanks.
- Turbo or continuous rim — if that is already what you run. Turbo for speed on granite; continuous for a cleaner marble or engineered-stone edge.
Grinding
- Turbo cup — faces
- Segmented shank cup — CNC edges, sinks, and profiles
- 6A2 — a standard cup without a shank
Also send stone type, wet or dry, and kerf if you already run a blade. Resin cut-off or polish on stone belongs on resin bond, not a metal cup.
When metal bond is the wrong wheel
- Architectural glass edge, arris, OG → Metal Bond × Glass
- Fused quartz or alumina / SiC blanks → Quartz and Ceramics
- Stone polish, calibration, or a resin cut-off already on the line → resin bond
- Carbide tools, TCT saws, mold steel → resin bond for carbide
- Production grinding of hardened steel → vitrified CBN
Metal bond wheels are wet, diamond, and made for granite, marble, and engineered stone.
